Canada's reputation is at stake

Do I think Afghan detainees were tortured? Yes, I do. Do I care? Absolutely. Torture is inhumane, illegal, and contrary to values Canadians treasure. I am furious with the government's attempts to stonewall an inquiry. Why would our government refuse to investigate this issue unless it had something to hide?

Canada's reputation as a country which respects international law and protects human rights are at stake. The attempt by the government to bury the truth is another step toward tarnishing a reputation which used to make us proud to be called Canadian.
