"STRONG
MEDICINE"
letters@globeandmail.ca
So it's
inevitable, is it? In spite of pesky tactical delays, America is
bent on delivering so-called "strong medicine" to the small country of
Iraq. Strong but necessary, it says. Of course, many collaterals
will be
damaged
in the process, but it will be worth it to "get rid of Saddam Hussein."
Excuse me, is that an echo I hear?
Never mind,
this time it will work, they say. And besides, this Bushkrieg will
allow the Pentagon to test, in the field, all those shiny new weapons of
mass destruction it has been spending so much money on. And all those
lovely
young men and women in the military will be able to test their mettle in
battle.
And mothers
everywhere are preparing to weep.
