Let us tell you a story of writers
Who can't work for CanWest any more
For the contract they're asked to be signing
Gives CanWest all the keys to the store.
O CanWest thinks it's okay to alter
Any sketch by an Emily Carr
And their writers must all have a muzzle
Or their writing forever they bar.
A writer is known for his content
And a writer is known for her stuff
If CanWest wants control of the story
Then CanWest needs to write their own fluff.
If CanWest wants control of the story
And Canadian Press they don't like
Then Canada's press loses freedom
And whoopee! We will all think alike.
We need to have lots of discussion
The maybe the yes and the no
Or we all better leave here for China
If one voice is in charge of our show.
